7NEWS - Report: Walmart withdraws from redevelopment project at Ninth and Colorado - News Story
Fuqua (the out-of-state developer) planned to seek tax-increment financing (a/k/a Corporate Welfare) to help pay for demolition and infrastructure of the site, and he previously said the only way he could make the project work was by bringing Walmart on as an anchor.
